Vul. Valova, 2 – residential building ID: 988
Residential building (19th century) on the corner of Valova Street and Mitskevych Square. The building was constructed in the early 19th century. In 1912, the shop windows on the first floor were renovated. In 1935, the facades of the building were restored. In 2003, repair and restoration work was also carried out. A typical example of Lviv residential architecture of the late 19th century.
Architecture
Built in the historicist style. Four-story, brick, plastered, rectangular in plan. Internal layout is sectional with enfilade arrangement of rooms. The composition of the facades is symmetrical. The first and second floors are decorated with linear rustication. Between the first and second floors and between the second and third floors, there are profiled cornices. The windows of the 2nd to 4th floors have molded profiled frames, which on the second floor are decorated with heraldic cartouches and finished with segmented pediments. On the fourth floor, the profiled frames are decorated with molded garlands. The building is topped with a profiled cornice supported by molded consoles, between which rectangular dormer windows are located.
The monument is a typical example of Lviv residential architecture of the late 19th century.
