Vul. Hlibova, 12 – residential building (former Palatyn villa) ID: 420

Former villa is a characteristic example of Neo-Gothic architecture in Lviv featuring elements of Neo-Romanesque style. It was originally built in 1875 according to design by constructor Edmund Köhler for the family of Władysław Czarnowski. It was called then villa Zacisze (Serenity). In 1893 it was reconstructed considerably by architect Alfred Kamienobrodzki for Olimpia Wyszyńska. The historic appearance of the building has survived mostly intact. The former villa is an architectural monument of local significance (#722). Today it is an apartment house.

    The building, originally a townhouse owned and designed by architect Julian (Juliusz) Cybulski, was built in the style of French Neo-Renaissance in 1889-1896 and still retains lavish authentic decorations. Together with a gazebo, a readapted stable and a fountain, it forms a complex, skillfully installed in the sloping relief. It is a monument of history and architecture. In 1910-1939, it belonged to Leontyna Studynska, née Vakhnianyn.
